Birds By the Sea!

Shorebird Photography Instruction Sessions

These sessions include 1 pre-shooting session via zoom or in person, 2 one-on-one shorebird photography sessions and one editing session. I will teach you the elements and process of my shorebird photography and follow up with an editing session using the images you have captured.

Our 2 shorebird shooting sessions will either take place in the morning or evening depending on the weather conditions. We will go over equipment, approaching birds, how to position yourself and camera techniques that I use. If you have specific goals, we can address those as well.

We will follow up with an editing session, either in my office or via zoom depending on your preference and how the weather conditions affect our schedule.

Birds in the Rookery!

Rookery Photography Instruction Sessions

These sessions include 1 pre-shooting session via zoom or in person, 2 one-on-one shorebird photography sessions and one editing session where I will teach you how I go photographing birds in our local rookery packed with birds each spring. We will follow up with an editing session using the images you have captured.

Our 2 rookery shooting sessions will either take place in the morning or evening depending on the weather conditions. We will work on how to position yourself, shoot creatively by using the foliage and light and camera techniques that I use. If you have specific goals, we can address those as well.

We will follow up with an editing session, either in my office or via zoom depending on your preference and how the weather conditions affect our schedule.

Learn to think beyond just taking a photograph of a bird and start to create artistically composed, shot and edited bird images.

    You will learn to use the light and manipulate your camera and create the mood you wish to convey from the scene you are photographing.

    We will work to click the shutter at the right moment to create memorable images. Understanding the behavior of your subject can help you know when and how to shoot.

    Learn to incorporate the environment in your bird images to add context and can make your images more interesting and engaging for the viewer.
